Dummy A reads the code
It sees your store as its accessibility tree: the names and roles in your HTML. That's how many browser agents shop, and how screen readers read.
Strict. A button with no name doesn't exist.
A tire kicker looks at everything and buys nothing. We built two. They shop your Shopify store, head for checkout and leave without paying, while we film every step. You see exactly where AI shoppers crash.

Two dummies, one mission, every step on film.
It sees your store as its accessibility tree: the names and roles in your HTML. That's how many browser agents shop, and how screen readers read.
Strict. A button with no name doesn't exist.
It sees screenshots and clicks whatever it can see, the way vision-based shopping agents do.
Forgiving. If a person could find it, so can B.
On Allbirds, the dummy that looks at the screen reached checkout in all five runs. The dummy that reads the code got stuck in the cart every time.

The fix: give the drawer's checkout buttons a real button role and a name. An afternoon for a developer.
On 10 October 2026 we sent the code-reading dummy to ten well-known Shopify stores on two missions: reach checkout, and find the shipping cost and returns window. Five runs per mission per store. Two stores never let it reach checkout.
| Store | Reached checkout | Found shipping and returns | What got in the way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gymshark | 5/5 | 5/5 | A cookie banner blocks clicks until it's accepted. |
| Allbirds | 0/5 | 0/5 | Checkout buttons in the cart drawer aren't in the page's code. No shipping page either. |
| Brooklinen | 5/5 | 5/5 | A text sign-up popup blocks the first clicks. |
| Bombas | 0/5 | 0/5 | Turned away at the door: a bot checkpoint blocks cloud traffic. |
| Glossier | 5/5 | 5/5 | Clean run. |
| Rothy's | 5/5 | 5/5 | A $20-off popup sits over the product grid. |
| Ruggable | 5/5 | 5/5 | Clean run. |
| SKIMS | 5/5 | 1/5 | Standard shipping price under $75 isn't published anywhere. |
| Kylie Cosmetics | n/a | 5/5 | Inconclusive: products didn't load from the cloud, but load from home. |
| Chubbies | 4/5 | 0/5 | No shipping price or delivery time. $50 or $75 free-shipping threshold, depending on the page. |
Runs came from cloud servers, where hosted AI agents browse from too. Kylie Cosmetics' checkout is left out: its products loaded from a home connection but not from the cloud, so that result says more about our setup than the store.
Every test ends in a report like this one, built from the Allbirds runs above. Above the tear line is the $5 test. Below it is the $99 full report, worth it when something crashed.

The fix
In the sample, the stumbles and the fix are blacked out until the full report is unlocked.
Plus a step-by-step log of every click each dummy made.

No. They stop the moment they reach checkout, never type payment details and never place an order. Your stock and your analytics see a visitor who browsed and left, which is exactly what a tire kicker is.
No. The dummies visit your storefront like any shopper. No login, no app install, no API keys.
AI shoppers don't all see a page the same way. Some read the page's code, some look at the screen. A store can work for one and fail the other, like Allbirds did. Testing both tells you which kind you're losing.
The dummies browse from cloud servers. Some stores block that traffic or load differently there. Hosted AI agents browse from the cloud too, so a store that turns our dummies away may be turning real agents away. When a result looks like our setup rather than your store, the report says so.
